He is a writer and researcher, who lives in Hanover, New Hampshire and is involved with subjects including trails, snow sports, environment and family. He conducts the industry statistics for the Cross Country Ski Areas Association, consults ski area clients, has written for Cross Country Skier magazine, Ski Area Management, and a number of regional sports magazines, and created the "Best XC Ski Area" Poll and the XC Skiing Eco-Active Leadership Award program.

Charlie Leocha, co-founder of xcskiresorts.com and creator of skisnowboard.com and skisnowboardeurope.com, shuffles between a home in New Hampshire and an apartment in Boston. He has managed to ski at almost every major downhill resort in North America and Europe and has reported on cross-country facilities near downhill resorts for more than a decade. Karen Cummings has been writing about skiing for more than a decade. She lives life, balanced between Boston and Maine, with a smile. Karen began skiing at the tender age of 25 and immediately discovered après-ski—her specialty. These days her nightlife forays are “research.” Karen is an expert shopper and has bought something at every resort she visits. She is also our cross-country aficionado who loves a workout with skating skis.
